The Cromwell & Okeke Foundation Essay Writing Competition 2025
Theme: Emerging Legal Issues in Telemedicine in Nigeria and Cross-Border Healthcare
Eligibility: Law students only (Nigerian universities). A valid school ID must be attached to the submission email.
Prize: ₦300,000 (cash) for the winning essay.
Guidelines

Word Count
Essays must be between 1,500 – 2,000 words. Footnotes do not count toward the word limit. -
Submission Requirements
• All entries must be received on or before 30 September 2025.
• Submit your essay as an attachment (Word or PDF) to
articles@cromwellokeke.com.
• In the body of the email include: full name, university name, and current level of study. Attach a clear photo or scanned copy of your valid school ID card.
• Each participant may submit only one entry. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt. The Foundation is not responsible for entries lost, delayed, or damaged in transmission. No late submissions will be accepted. -
Content
Entries must be original and must not contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, or otherwise unsuitable material. Plagiarism or infringement of third-party rights will result in disqualification. -
Judging & Decision
The winner will be chosen at the sole discretion of the judging panel. The panel’s decision is final and not open to correspondence. -
Publication & Announcement
The winner will be announced in October 2025 on Cromwell & Okeke Foundation’s official Instagram and LinkedIn pages. -
Intellectual Property
Participants retain copyright of their essays. By submitting, participants grant the Foundation a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, broadcast, post, adapt, abridge, or translate the work across all platforms without further compensation. -
Amendments
The Foundation reserves the right to amend these terms in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Tips: Focus on legal frameworks, practical recommendations, clear argument structure, and originality. Footnote sources where necessary; keep the main text within the word limit.
