About Us – Writertain Creatives

Writertain Creatives is Nigeria’s leading independent platform for writing creativity. We are the home where stories are born, writers are seen, and Nigerian creative voices receive the attention and recognition they deserve.

Founded as a digital-first space for authors, screenwriters, journalists, poets, spoken-word artists, essayists, and storytellers of every kind, we exist to spotlight, support, and sustain the people who shape the narratives that define our culture and identity.

We are more than a blog. We are a movement, a publishing house, a cultural archive, a career accelerator, and a proud champion of Nigerian writing in all its forms — from self-published novels on Amazon to blockbuster YouTube films, from faith-inspired memoirs to hard-hitting investigative journalism, from poetry collections to powerful scripts.

Our Mission

At Writertain Creatives, we believe the pen remains mightier than the algorithm. Our mission is clear and urgent:

To make Nigerian writers visible, viable, and victorious.

We achieve this by:

  • Curating honest and authoritative lists that document excellence across all genres every year.
  • Publishing practical guides, resources, and opportunities that help writers turn their talent into sustainable careers.
  • Spotlighting both established and emerging voices — especially those who are often overlooked.
  • Building a strong community through interviews, author spotlights, short-story series (WRITERTAINERS), discussions, and genuine celebration of every literary and creative win.

We do not focus only on a few big names. We focus on all writers. Every serious storyteller in Nigeria belongs here.

Our Journey

What started as a passionate commitment to celebrate Nigerian creatives has grown into the country’s most active independent writing platform. From our early magazine issues that introduced fresh voices to the expansive website we run today at writertaincreatives.ink, we have always placed writers at the centre of the conversation.

In 2025 and early 2026, we published several landmark articles and resources, including:

We also released two new volumes under Writertain Publishers in January 2026, expanding from digital content into print and ebook collections that preserve and promote Nigerian creative work.

What We’ve Done That Matters

  • Created the most referenced annual lists in Nigerian literature and screenwriting, including the Top 25 Nollywood Screenwriters of 2025 and Top 25 Breakout Writers of 2025. These lists are now used by producers, publishers, book clubs, and journalists.
  • Spotlighted more than 100 writers through dedicated profiles, Creative of the Month features, and in-depth interviews, covering authors in every genre and region.
  • Produced practical resources that thousands of Nigerian writers now rely on daily for self-publishing, networking, funding, and career growth.
  • Documented the broader literary ecosystem by highlighting active book clubs, debut novels, memoirs, poetry, and underrated voices across the country.
  • Bridged the gap between writers and mainstream success by celebrating the hard work behind major creative projects.

One powerful moment was when we published the article “The Omoni Oboli Wins African YouTube Creator of the Year and these Writers Made It Happen 2025”. We celebrated the screenwriters (including Ukeme Ninedeys, Inyang Mfon-Abasi Michael, Joy Isi Bewaji, and others) whose scripts powered her record-breaking films. Omoni Oboli herself visited our page to celebrate one of her writers publicly. That moment perfectly captured our purpose: giving writers the recognition they deserve.

What People Have Said About Us

Writers across Nigeria regularly tell us that our lists, spotlights, and resources have opened doors for them, increased their visibility, and made them feel truly seen and valued.

Our Vision

We envision a Nigeria where every serious writer, regardless of genre or background, has access to the tools, recognition, community, and opportunities needed to thrive. Whether you write from Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Port Harcourt, or any part of the country, your voice matters here.

We want writing to remain a respected and sustainable career. We want Nigerian stories to dominate bookshelves, screens, and stages across Africa and beyond. Above all, we want every writer who has ever doubted their path to know: your voice belongs here.
